All New!!

I can't believe it's been more than a week since I last posted - promised myself that I would post weekly or more when setting this up - time flies when you're having fun!!  We have so much new stuff coming in this month!  A great new Chef line just got here, cute as the dickens, a bunch of new batiks, a lot used for our Block of the Month, but many were not, and more are coming!  Currently there are 6 boxes in the back to be checked in, so, guess we need to keep it going out the door just as fast - need to think about the next sale to get everyone back in here!

At home I'm working on a quilt for my sister & brother-in-law in all flannels, it's fun to work with flannels I think!  I will have to post a photo of it once it's ready to be quilted which will be tomorrow I hope!  Also, working on a binding on a quilt for my niece - it's her birthday on the 23rd - better keep on stitchin'!!  Will check back soon!  Quiltingly,  Vicki

First Saturday 2011 is here!!

Wow - so hard to believe it's 2011 - what happened to 2010?  It was a blur!!  Now, comes the stress for me to get our new First Saturday up and running smoothly - there is a lot of planning going on here.  We had to get all our patterns ordered - but then of course, we will have to order more (good problem & not complaining!) I never order enough the first time, but that's part of it I've learned.  As for getting the fabrics when we need them, that's always another stresser for me - some of our beautiful batiks came in today & are ready to go, I have more (about 2 dozen) on their way from Kaufman, but they shipped today, so, probably not going to make it here Friday, but positive thinking here - maybe they will...also trying to get all hand-outs designed & copied, etc, etc, etc.  Really looking forward to this year though - we are going to take a different approach in teaching, & in our mystery quilt design - hope everyone is happy with it!!!  No, can't tell you here, would blow the surprise!  See you all Saturday!  Vicki

Purse from a Panel

Look at the Inside!!!  All those Pockets!!!
I've been working on this for only a few evenings & it's already done!!  It was a lot of fun!!  So nice that the pieces are printed & chosen for you on the panels - you just cut them apart & fuse the thermolam plus to the back & go!!

The other thing that has been taking all my attention lately is getting our FESTIVAL classes up & ready for sign-ups!  It's finally done!  I'm very happy with the local teachers we've chosen this year, and of course, Linda Ballard will return!!  We love her classes!  So, sign up today while there's still room!

Merry Christmas!!

Wow - it's the day after Christmas - it always goes by so fast!  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, we certainly did!  Want to hear a funny story?  My daughter Kendra totally and completely still believes in Santa, and why shouldn't she?!  Well, Santa visits our house the night of the 23rd because she is at Dad's house on the 24th, and he goes there too!  So, I get everything ready to prove "Santa's been there" - and then a half hour later she gets up with a flashlight to see if he's been there or not.  I have to be the "bad" mom and say, you can only have one present & the rest you can open in the morning at 7 - so back to bed girl!  Well, that night at about 1am my cell phone rings - I didn't answer it - just ignored it.  Then, my cell rings again at 4:30am, this time I go see who's calling so early - it was my home number calling...yes, she was smart enough to call from our home phone & tell me it was time to get up!  So, she gets up to open her presents, and stays up, needless to say, she was a tired little puppy that night, so I think she missed Santa on the 24th!

Quilting Season

Happy Holidays to all!!  Hard to believe the snow is flying, and winter has arrived!  But, I have to say, I'm glad it's quilting season again.  I always look forward to this time of year - time to hunker down & quilt!
